C Groove PutterMajor innovations have taken place in the field of putters compared to other areas of golf. One of the most popular one is the introduction of the mallet head replacing the traditional blade head that oft represented a putter. A popular variation in this field of mallet putters is the c groove putter. The c groove putter is the brain child of Harold Swash, a golf expert who is also called as the “Putting Doctor”. His popularity lies in his high rate of success while putting on the greens. Apart from his unique innovations on putting alignment systems, his strides into the field of putting have created ripples of happiness among amateurs and pros alike.

What is a c groove putter?

The c groove putter was created in the year 1995 by Harold swash who wanted to reduce putting mistakes that people often commit and which forces them to end up with higher scores! Swash discovered that while putting, it is the ball that often skids and wavers of the line of putt after being struck by a normal putter head at the address. If only the first few moments of the ball’s journey could be controlled, then he was sure that the player would emerge a winner! This was the mother of this innovative putter called the C groove putter.

The working of the C groove putter is fairly simple. The grooves provided in the putter face prevent the initial bumping, skidding and slipping of the golf ball. In traditional putters such aberrations result in missed putts and of course a disappointed player! But how does C groove putter does that? On the concentric edges of the C groove putter, there is a deliberate upward slant which provides the perfect top-spin to the ball unlike other popular branded putters that nudge the ball from the bottom and forces it out of the line of putt. As a result, the ball becomes stable early on and rolls forward along the line of putt. Many tests have been carried out to check the veracity of the claim regarding higher putting skills. In all the tests against any ordinary putter, C groove putters have outperformed in all of them. It was found that the amazing technology in C groove putters enable balls to roll straight even if they are hit slightly off from the centre. There is least deflection from the intended line of putt despite being struck on off-centre places. There are special alignment lines on the mallet head of the C groove putters which help the golfers to orient the ball well along the line of putt.

This unique design of the putter has been bought and manufactured by Yes! Golfing company. C groove putters have been approved by USPGA as well. It has also found the place of No.1 in the list of top 60 golf putters in the year 2002.
