Golf Push SliceIn golf, slice is the shot generally in-to-out curving of the ball towards the right side. But you need to check your slice very carefully. Is the ball directly following the curving path or it is starting with a straighter direction and thereafter following a curve? Both are different, if your tee shot directly follows a right side direction then it is a push and if at the end it further curves rightward then this type of shot is called golf push slice. The opposite of this shot is called pull which is an out-to-in motion.

Slice is the effect of over spin on the ball due to which the ball follows a clockwise direction. It normally starts to the target and arcs away to the right side. Most of the beginner golfers face this problem of slicing the ball. And they take a lot of time to overcome it. In fact some of them take years to eliminate this error from their swing.

What Causes The Golf Push Slice?

The push slice is generally caused by the swing path of the club. During downswing the club follows an inside out path which is caused because of throwing your arms ahead of your shoulders. Being too close to the ball you try to over compensate the swing to make contact with the ball. These flaws are easy to identify but there can be some other reasons as well. Some other reasons include open club face, too active hips, poor rhythm and too much downside of the club head.

How to Fix the Golf Push Slice?

The golf push slice is directly related to your golf swing action so the easiest way to fix a golf push slice is to go back to the basics of the golf swing. During the back swing always make sure that you throw your arms out with your shoulders and during the down swing pull your arms along with shoulders. Check your stance if you are standing too close to the ball. Also the club face should be positioned at the center of the ball. Some of the push-slicer have alignment problem so check your feet, eyes, shoulders and hips all are parallel to the target line. Finally concentrate on maintaining a rhythmic motion so that your arms and body remain synchronize.
