Golf Putting Tips

It is often said that – “All’s Well That Ends Well.” This is true for golf as well. Even if you have hit a great drive and played some really nice shots at the green and still cannot putt the ball well, you can not score low at the game of golf. So if you want to score a par or even a birdie it is very much important that you get your putting shot perfect. You have to learn how to adjust the putt according to the distance of the hole and the slope of the golf course. There are many strategies that are followed by the experienced golfers for putting - like aiming at 10% past the hole for a perfect putt shot. Likewise there are so many things that you need to learn and implement in your game through practice to get your putt shot perfect. Here we are presenting some really effective golf putting tips that will help you to improve your putt shot.

One of the most important golf putting tips that you should know is about the stroke path. The stoke path is the line through which the golf putter moves. The ideal strike path for a perfect putt should be straight. The golf club should go straight back behind you and come back to hit the ball and follow the line straight to the target. Your golf club putter should move like a pendulum while taking the putt shot. This may sound too easy to anyone but you need regular and consistent practice to get that straight stroke path in order to get your putt right.

The next thing that you should be careful about is the face angle. It is the angle of the golf club face with the target when it hits the ball. Ideally the face of putter should be square to the target when it connects to the ball. Slight deviation from this angle will mean that the ball will deviate from the angle. This angle of the face primarily depends on the movement of the putter. So while taking the shot at the putt make sure your movement is correct and you keep the face square.

The most important factor of the putt shot is the impact point that is portion of the face of the putter that connects with the ball. Ideally it should be the middle of the putter face that is often referred as the sweet spot. Most of the amateur golfers stress on the movement of the putter and the face angle but forget this point. But for perfect hit you have to make sure that you hit the ball with the sweet spot or as close as possible with this point. An off centre hit will mean that the ball will go off the line. Moreover, if you hit the ball with the wrong place of the putter it is most likely that optimum energy will not be transferred to the ball that will stop the ball well before it reaches the putt. That means you have to take another stroke to putt the ball that will spoil your score.

These were some golf putting tips, if followed; it will surely help you improve your putt shot while playing golf
