The material – There are mainly two types of golf shafts for irons – one is made with steel and the other is made with carbon fiber that is also known as graphite. If your swing speed is more than 105 mph you should use extra stiff shaft, if your swing speed is somewhere between 90 to 105, you should use a stiff shaft, if you swing at a speed between 80 to 95 mph you should have a regular shaft, if your swing speed is between 70 to 85 you must use a senior flex and if your speed is less than 70 mph then you should go for a ladies flex.
