K J Choi is a very good Korean Golfer and the first one to join the PGA tour. He did not turn to the game till he was 16 years of age. He joined the game after completing successfully as a junior weight lifter.

K J Choi is famous for his putter grip. In an interview with the winners news conference he acknowledged of seeing this grip on TV. He was convinced that it will work for him. This grip reduced the wrist movement and you can just use your shoulders. Putter grip makes the ball roll better.
The concept of this grip is to limit the rotation of the head which is the thought of the fat grip. This is like getting a larger grip on your irons, wrist rotation so that the release will be minimized.

K J Choi’s coach Steve Bann was surprised to see that most of the golf instructions he got were from reading the Korean version of the Jack Nicolas book. Choi’s swing did not suite his body type and so his coach set him up right. Bann helped him to four of his seven PGA tours victories and to no 7 on the world Golf ranking.
Bann made him stand taller with his left hip higher then his right. This improved Choi’s posture and has provided effortless power.
Choi uses his right hand and keeps it straight as long as possible. He keeps his left arm connected to his chest as he takes the club back. He uses his big muscles on his turn.
He plays a power fade by allowing his body and arms to work in sequence on the down swing and through the swing. This is easy for him as he has a very strong core and lower body. He uses muscles to power the ball down the fairway. This fade also gives him consistency, as it requires less co ordination to repeat.
