Maintenance of Fairway Mowers
- Care After Every Mowing:
After mowing the golf lawn you should wait for the engine to cool. Disconnect the cable and then spray the clippings and grass debris clinging to the underside of your mower. This will prevent the grass clippings from building up in the deck of the mower and prevent clogging while bagging.
- Care Once A Month:
The blades of your mower need sharpening once a month. If you mow more than four times or there are rocks and debris that can dull the blade you need to sharpen your mower more often. Dull blades require more fuel and also damage your golf greens.
- Care Once In A Year:
Change the oil of your mower and replace the spark plug. Replace the air filter of your mower.
- Storing The Mower:
You may not require your mower during snowfall. You will have to drain the fuel from your mower.
Maintenance Of Golf Green Sprayers
Lawn sprayers are generally made of metal or polyethylene tanks. The pump mechanism of your sprayer needs more maintenance in your sprayer. Take the mechanism apart at least once every year and clean it. Add some grease around the new rings and clean the nozzle. Replace the wand if it is bent or broken. Disassemble the valve and clean the parts and apply some grease and reassemble again. The O rings of your sprayer require frequent replacement.
Maintenance of Golf Green Sweepers
Lawn sweepers are important as they help collect all the extraneous stuff in a container that can be emptied later. To ensure durability and longevity of the sweeper, make sure that it is clean and dry. If the frame of the lawn sweeper is made of steel than make sure you wipe it regularly with oil to ensure that no rust forms. You should take care of the sweeper bags. If they are made of nylon you should clean them thoroughly and dry them properly to have more life.
