He had moved to Arizona State to peruse his career as a mechanical engineer in General Electrics. It was at the behest of his friends that he began to play golf. The name “Anser” was coined by his wife Louise who said that it was an “answer” to the tricky problem of putting. The letter “W” was removed as the word became too long to be written on the putter head! Ping Anser putters became the most influential putters in the world all over with more than 500 golf tournaments wins.
